Racing to Kick-Off for 2017 Make Smoking History Australian Supermoto Championships

The 2017 Make Smoking History Australian Supermoto Championships are taking place this weekend (18 & 19 November) at Wanneroo International Kartway at Neerabup, Western Australia and the anticipation is as high as ever. Hosted by SupermotoWA, itís going to be a high-octane show of epic proportions.

As race weekend approaches, several of the riders and shipping containers have arrived in WA from NSW and QLD. On the track, the dirt sections have been completely redone, ensuring it will be in prime condition for the racing ahead.
SupermotoWA recently announced a bombshell that World number two Supermoto rider, Markus Class will be racing at the event. Class is an accomplished rider that is currently 1st in the International German Championship and 2nd in the Supermoto of Nations with Team Germany. Class cannot wait to test his world class skills against Australia's best Supermoto racers.
There are a number of competitors to keep your eye on this weekend, including Jess Boujos and Stefany James who will be battling it out for first place in the Womenís class. Boujos currently holds the number one standing and James came third last year in the Nationals. Over in the Proís, Andy McLiesh, Tim Boujos, Grant Roncevich, Damon Gibbons will be amongst those battling for podium places in Proís.
Spectators that attend the event can expect full grids and extremely close racing with the Pro, Open, Clubman, Vets and Womenís classes taking centre stage. Make sure to also check out the smaller mini-motards and mini GP bikes and there is even a Postie bike class where the racing is close and fun on these machines with minimal modifications. The Juniors will be out on the track as well, providing a glimpse of the future of the sport.
The schedule is going to be packed full of action, with practice and qualifying on Saturday morning and racing Saturday afternoon and all-day Sunday. Anyone wishing to spectate can attend and catch all the action anytime over the weekend. Donít forget there are exhibitor stands, a canteen will be open if you want a bite to eat and kids are welcome Ė there will be a bouncy castle and face-painting on the Sunday. Make sure to bring the whole family!
