Further update to Membership and Motorcycling Community on Barbagallo Raceway

‘’Further to our note to members, we are pleased to provide a further update on the status of our efforts to return motorcycling activities to Barbagallo in WA ahead of New Year.

Motorcycling Western Australia and Motorcycling Australia (MWA / MA) wrote to the Honourable Minister Mick Murray (the Minister) and the Department of Local Government, Sport and  Cultural Industries (DLGSC) (formerly the Department of Sports and Recreation) clarifying MA/MWA’s position in relation to the progress of the return of motorcycling activity to Barbagallo Raceway on 13 December 2017.

In response to MA/MWA’s letter, we are pleased to report to members that the Minister and DLGSC have now convened an invitation only meeting to discuss what is required to finalise the resumption of motorcycling activities to Barbagallo. 

The meeting will take place on 30 January 2018 and the following key stakeholders have been invited:

Volunteering; Sport and Recreation         


WA Department of Local Government


Sport and  Cultural Industries     


Motorcycling Australia        


Motorcycling Western Australia       


City of Wanneroo        


West Australian Sporting Car Club 

MA/MWA warmly welcomes the opportunity to continue to work with key stakeholders to establish a resolution for the safe return of motorcycling activity to Barbagallo Raceway as soon as possible.
