Information Bulletin #1643
December 22, 2017

Affected Disciplines: Road Racing. Information Regarding: OEM Electronic Functionality

Electronic Functions available on a make and model machine which are OEM fitted during production, can be utilised during competition unless otherwise stipulated in the MoMS or Supplementary Regulations.

No additional sensors can be added or sensor type changed from what is OEM fitment to enhance any electronic function.

No additional sensors can be added or sensor type changed from what is OEM fitment also applies where the manufacturer’s nominated race kit ECU is permitted to be used.

If a second homologated model of machine of the same manufacturer and capacity does not have the same electronic capabilities OEM fitted; that machine cannot be modified to meet the same specification unless the function is included in the manufacturers nominated race kit ECU only.

Rationale:

If a make and model of machine meets the homologation requirements of MA; then any electronic function that is standard OEM fitment to that homologated make and model should be allowable for use during competition, unless otherwise stipulated in the MoMS or Supplementary Regulations.
